MAY DAY & Friday
Tomorrow is May Day… tomorrow many people are uniting for International Workers’ Day. I hope I’m able to make it out and support. Friday weighs heavy for me, I see my uncle being sentenced. It is hard to see someone who I looked to as a role model growing up & still has a positive influence in my life just fall off so hard. I can say the good out of it all is that it brought me much closer with my two cousins. I feel for them but could never feel how hard it must be to watch your father go off to prison. I think about what tomorrow’s rallies mean for us as people coming together against the oppressive tool of capitalism. I also think of my uncle and other friends who are being left behind and how they are ones I could see supporting the cause but because of circumstance they were brought down. I am ready.
